Comparing a Movie Trailer to an Opening Sequence

There is a major difference between a movie trailer, and an opening sequence of a movie. For instance a trailer will take some of the best scenes from the film and put them together, this is to grab the audiences attention and encourage them to come and watch the film. However they wont give to much away, only who is in it, and a rough idea of what the movie is about. As you can see in the trailer below.

However an opening sequence to a movie is much different, as it starts with an establishing shot so the audience is able to see who and where the characters are. Then we will have some close ups of the main character, so that we as the audience will know who the main character is. Also we get told some background information, like who they are, and where they live, or where they work. We get a lot more detailed information than a movie trailer.

Preliminary Task

WWW-We was able to use different shot types, i.e. Long shot, Panning Shot, Mid Shot, Over the shoulder Shot, A Master Shot, match on action, Shot reverse shot and Close ups. Which made our video flow more.

EBI-We need to make sure that our match on action shots are perfect, as I change the positions of my arms between two shots. Also our over the shoulder shots need to be to the side more to fill empty space.
